Welcome to Taste of Black St Louis (TOBSTL), a sensational culinary journey rooted in St. Louis, MO. Immerse yourself in the celebration of African American culinary heritage, where flavors, stories, and traditions converge to cultivate unity and appreciation.
Taking place every 2nd weekend in September in downtown St. Louis, this three-day festival invites you to savor a delectable experience. Admission to Taste of Black St Louis is FREE, featuring a diverse array of foods, retail delights, and informational vendors from the Midwest and beyond.
Since our establishment in 2018, Taste of Black St Louis has drawn over 250+ vendors and generated substantial sales for participants. Our mission is to curate a vibrant African American Food Festival, offering a communal space for cultural exchange, education, and the joyous exploration of food.
Recognized in September 2021 with a Proclamation from Mayor Tishaura Jones, designating the 2nd week of September as "Taste of Black St Louis weekend," we've received resolutions and acknowledgments from the Missouri House of Representatives, State Representative Marlon Anderson, and, in 2023, the Board of Aldermen and Alderman Rasheen Aldridge. These recognitions underline Taste of Black St Louis as a cherished community staple and the perfect portal for small businesses into the hearts and tummies of our city year after year.
